About Fundamentals of Literature
As an introduction to the study of literature, the course focuses on making students Course Description familiar with, and developing their knowledge of the basic concepts and genres of literary works which will help them to study other fields of literature. The overall attempt of the course is to introduce the basics of literature in general and Amharic in particular. So, definition of art and types of art, introduction about the definition of literatures (written and oral), fundamental concepts, significance, and function of literature ,scope of literature, literature and society, major literary genres and their elements, basic nature of literary style and criticisms on selected literary analysis should be discussed.
