About Arabic Manuscript
This course introduce basic concepts related to Arabic manuscript studies from internal to physical examination of handmade manuscripts, It covers (codicology, palaeography, cataloguing and preservations). Most sessions will consist of theory and practice. The latter will involve a physical examination of selected manuscripts from the institute of Ethiopian Studies. collections, as well as the reading of such texts as colophons, audition and ownership statements, and study notes.
