About Introduction to Literary Theory and Criticism
The course is about the study of central theoretical statements of literature and its analysis from the classical period (theory and criticism of Plato, Aristotle, Longinus, Sir Philip Sydney, John Dryden, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Matthew Arnold, T.S. Eliot, and Marx.) to the 20th century (movements in 20th century, such as: new criticism, formalism, structuralism, poststructuralism, psychological, sociological, Marxism, and other trends of criticism). The course also focuses on Feminist literary criticism/gender issues in literature.
